Welcome to Bryan Clisby Antique Clocks

On this site you will find examples of good English, Scottish & French clocks and barometers. The stock comprises longcase (i.e. grandfather), bracket, wall and mantel clocks, and wheel and stick barometers. In longcase I have mahogany, oak, walnut and sometimes lacquered - both brass and painted dial.

I buy principally well proportioned clocks with well figured veneers, stringing or banding, and interesting dials such as moon, automaton and strike silent. Clocks are restored in our own workshops, as I have been doing for over 30 years. I try to keep the fine patina and colour acquired by generations of owners, and certainly do not strip and re-polish except where absolutely necessary. Movements are restored to give long and reliable use and are always guaranteed.

You will find the prices of my stock very competitive, as I am keen to keep a good turnover. The fun part of the business is replenishing the stock, and one cannot do that without actively selling!

Delivery in the UK is usually included within a reasonable range. I have been selling clocks to the USA for many years and customers who are unable to visit can buy with confidence from the website. As a further measure I am able to provide the name of a US citizen of considerable standing in the US who will be able to vouch for the service I offer.
